The New Year is fast approaching and you're looking for some family fun to bring in 2010. Look no more. We've found it for you. The Grand Strand area of South Carolina has a bounty of activities the whole family can enjoy. Not only is the Grand Strand a premier tourist destination for summer fun; it's also a hot spot for off-season travel as well. So load up the car and head to the Strand to enjoy some real family fun for your New Year's Celebration.

For one stop family entertainment, visit Broadway at the Beach. This 350-acre complex offers attractions, shopping, and dining and for every member of your family. If you're planning an extended celebration, there are even top rated accommodations at Broadway.

To make this New Year's celebration one to remember, start your day with a visit to Ripley's Aquarium, South Carolina's most visited attraction. The 85,000 sq. foot aquarium has amazing exhibits to explore. See the Rio Amazon, Stingray Bay or the Dangerous Reef exhibits. Little ones can visit the Discovery Center where they can get a unique hands on experience with the marine life. For a holiday treat, visit the aquarium's Festival of Trees. This display allows you to tour the entire country in one visit. Trees from every state in the country are decorated with that state's theme. Kids ages 6-12 can also enjoy the Kids Only New Years Eve Sleepover with karaoke, crafts, pizza, and music & dancing. There's a non-alcoholic toast at 12 with a ball drop and a live simulcast from Time Square. How's that for a New Year's Eve Party!

If movies are your preference, take in an exciting 3D movie at the IMAX Theater. The giant screen is over six stories tall and the tiered seating allows a great view from any one of the 400 seats in the theater. The spectacular surround sound system helps make it a true 3D experience. Be sure to check for theater times and shows as they are subject to change. Oh yeah, if 3D's not your thing, then you can catch a great new movie at the Carmike Cinema. It has more screens than any other theater in the area and the stadium seating makes for a great movie experience.

Enjoy shopping? Broadway offers a host of stores including apparel, toys, health and beauty, art and specialty stores. The kids are sure to enjoy a trip to the Build A Bear workshop and Mom and Dad can pick up their favorite things from any of the shops specializing in everything from fragrances to sports memorabilia.
