Ideas for a Great 4th of July Party
Sick of Blah and Boring Parties? Here Are Some Great Ideas for a Fabulous Party!
-Make it a theme party! If you're going to cookout this 4th of July, why not make it a cool theme party? One year, we threw a Jamaica Party at our house. We had Red Stripe Beer, rum punch, and cooked Jerk Chicken on the grill. We asked everyone to dress tropical and to bring a Caribbean side dish to share! In the background, we had tiki torches and Bob Marley playing! We decorated in the colors of the Jamaican flag...Black, green, & Yellow. It turned out to be a blast!
-Dress code! Ask everyone to dress patriotic! Most original costume will win a prize! You might be very surprised how far someone will go to win a title!
-Red, White, & Blue! You can have a lot of fun with color at your party, having colorful ideas is one little touch people will remember! Water balloon toss with red, white, & blue balloons, have red, white, & blue drinks, Have everyone dress in red, white, or blue, make sure all of your table ware is red, white, & blue, even the desserts could be red, white, & blue!
-Throw a birthday party for America! Instead of having your guests bring a gift for the birthday person, you could have them make a donation to an honorable charity! Have cake and ice cream. Heck, go all out and have party hats and horns! All in all, a charity will be blessed by you getting your party on!
-4th of July Jeopardy! Put some history questions on cards and have a ball with it! People will be amazed at how little they don't know about America. Spice it up a notch and make it trivia questions about weird laws in different places in America!
-Presidential theme! You could photocopy life size pictures of presidents and make them into masks! Each guest could wear one if they don't know the name of that president or you could have a game involving the presidents. You could make different presidents' favorite foods for your party, too!
-Patriotic music, people! Keep the tunes coming with patriotic background music. Be careful, because it can sometimes become annoying!
-Red, white, & blue ice cubes! Take different colored juices and make ice with them! Kids will especially love this idea!
-Have an out door talent show. Make your own American Idol competition in your back yard! It would be a hoot and a holler to see what different people come up with for their talent!
Most importantly this year, make sure that you are careful with fireworks. Although they are fun and pretty to look at, they are very dangerous! Let's keep our fingers in tact this year!
