Halloween-style chips and dip
Chips and dip are the cheapest, easiest and most universally liked party food out there. However, they are not very festive. Never fear, there is a way to spruce this snack up for Halloween. Use a pale-colored dip like ranch or French onion. Prepare the dip the way you normally would and then add a drop or two of green or orange food coloring. You should add one drop at a time and mix before adding more until you get the desired color. Alternatively, you could make a guacamole or chipotle dip, which are green and orange respectively without food coloring.
Halloween cupcakes
The great thing about making Halloween cupcakes is that you may be able to find all the fixings you need to make them "Halloweeny" in your cupboard. You can add green or orange food coloring to a white frosting or you can use leftover green sprinkles from Christmas. Alternatively, you can add a piece of candy corn to the top of each cupcake. What says Halloween more than a piece of candy corn?
Halloween cookies
Cookies are an easy way to feed your party guests. Chances are you can buy pre-made Halloween cookies at your local grocery store. If you want to make them yourself, just whip up your favorite cookie recipe and use a Halloween cookie cutter or frost them in Halloween colors or with Halloween pictures. Pumpkins are the easiest shape to draw on a cookie with frosting.
Apples, carrots and cucumbers
Apples are a seasonal fruit that are harvested in the fall. Therefore, they give a seasonal flair to your party. Furthermore, apples have become a symbol of Halloween in the way that people associate bobbing for apples with the holiday. You can play this fun game with your guests, or you can cut the apple up and serve it as finger food.
Your carrots and cucumbers are naturally Halloween-colored and the make for a healthy snack. Simply julienne some carrots and cucumbers and serve it with a dip. Maybe you could go with something blood red (food coloring would come in handy here).
You see, it is easy to take a simple party food and turn into a Halloween-themed snack. All you need is a little creativity and just about any party food you can imagine.
