Ideas for Homemade Easter Cards

From toddlers to adults, making homemade Easter cards for the ones you love gives you a warm feeling inside. Here are a few ideas for homemade Easter cards that children to adults can make.

Photograph Easter Card

There are many different ways you can make a self portrait Easter card. For the younger children, simple is always better. You will need to supply the child with the photograph the child wants to give to their loved one. The child can just glue it to the front of a folded piece of construction paper. Then, on the inside of the Easter card, depending on the age of the child, the child can either draw a picture or write "Happy Easter" on their card and sign their name. The complexity of the card really depends on the child's ability to design or make a homemade Easter card.

Another way to make a photograph Easter card is to take construction paper fold it in half to look like a card. Next, cut slits in the front of the card where you want the photograph to go. This way the person can keep the photograph and throw the card out if they have no place to store it. As you are looking at the front of the card put the photograph in the slits so the picture can be seen.

If you want your photograph Easter card to have a frame around the photo, cut pieces of different colored construction paper than you are using for the card and glue it around the picture to look like a frame. Once the picture is in place the child can either write in the photograph Easter card or draw a picture.

Simple Decorated Easter Card

One of the best Easter cards is just a simply decorated card for a family member. Younger children love making Easter cards and the messier the better. Glue, glitter and paint are favorites for a toddler's Easter card. All that is needed is folded construction paper as the Easter card and glue, glitter, paint, crayons, and any other item you may have for decorating.

If the child is older, let her or him tell you how they want to make the card. They can even tell you what they will need to decorate the homemade Easter card with. Let the older child express himself or herself in their own way. If they need ideas make suggestions, but let them decide so they will have a bigger feeling of self worth and more confidence in themselves.

Homemade Easter cards are a great way for everyone to express their own Easter wish. They are truly individualized and the recipient will know the sender is thinking of them. Whether you make a simple card or a photograph card or even a more elaborate Easter card, the recipient will be thankful for it and the sender will enjoy making their own card.
