New Year's Eve is a time to be with family and friends and have a big celebration. A lot of New Year's Eve celebrations are not exactly kid-friendly, so you might need to think of some kid-friendly New Year's Eve ideas. If you are looking for some kid-friendly New Year's Eve party ideas you might want to think about doing some fun things that everyone can enjoy.

One thing you can do to make your New Year's Eve party kid-friendly is to bake cookies. Get some of the traditional always good cookies like chocolate chip, sugar, and peanut butter cookies and have your child cook with you. Baking cookies can become a New Year's Eve tradition and a simple but fun way to make sure your New Year's Eve party is kid-friendly. Get all the children at the party involved in the mixing of the cookie batter, baking, and even decoration of the cookies to make them feel comfortable and also so they can have fun too.

New Year's resolutions are always something a child can get involved with and it can make it a kid-friendly environment. Have everyone including the children get a piece of paper and write down three goals for next year, this can be fun and also teach them about setting goals. If they are in school you can make the goals or resolutions school-oriented like getting better grades or interacting more with other students. You can really make the New Year's party kid-friendly by showing them what it means to write a goal and then tell them ways they can achieve those goals. Having children set resolutions can teach them about responsibility and also about self-discipline, you also want to encourage everyone to read their goals out loud so that everyone can hear them.

You can also make New Year's Eve parties more kid-friendly by having many different games out while you wait for the new year to begin. Have games like hangman or scrabble out and allow the children to play the games with each other or with some adults. Games are always fun for a child and can even be fun for an adult. If you like other games such as card games, you can also encourage the children to participate and show them how to play the games. You can also make a game out of happy new year, and see how many different word combinations you can come up with using only those words.

Having the children blow up balloons or decorate the room is also a good way to make New Year's Eve parties more kid-friendly. Children love balloons and different party favors so be sure to have some out and include them in the decorating of the room for the New Year's Eve party. You can have them color something like a ball dropping or have them set out the party favors for everyone before the fun begins. Including the children in the decorating or passing out of party favors will make them feel important and like they are part of the festivities.

Another good way to keep your New Year's Eve party kid-friendly is to allow them to watch cartoons for a while before the ball drops. You can simply turn the channel to a kid-friendly station or have the children bring a cartoon that they enjoy with them so you can keep them entertained for a while before the party really begins. Allowing the children to watch cartoons before 11 at night can calm them down and also keep them busy so you can do the cooking or other things you need to do. Once 11 at night comes, explain to them the importance of having the channel on a special New Year's Eve celebration which by that time they should be winding down and getting tired.
