Ideas for an Orange and Black Halloween Wedding

J. Darling
Some people absolutely adore Halloween, and for those couples planning a wedding it seems logical that some Halloween-lovers might choose a Halloween themed wedding. While the idea might seem a bit offbeat, many couples have lovely wedding ceremonies that aren't tacky. With the wide selection of wedding dresses and bridal party attire, a Halloween wedding can be fun and memorable for everyone involved. There are many directions that a wedding planner can go when choosing elements for a Halloween wedding. Here are some ideas for venues and attire for a Halloween wedding based around traditional Halloween colors.

Halloween Wedding Venue Ideas
If you're lucky enough to be near a reportedly haunted castle, church, historic site, or mansion that is available for rental, that would be the perfect place for a Halloween wedding. If you're not, you can still throw a Halloween themed wedding at an old theater, ballroom, or hotel. Arrive at the ceremony or leave the reception in a horse-drawn carriage or a dark black limousine, even a hearse.

Orange and Black Halloween Bridal Gowns, Bridesmaid Dresses, Hair, and Make-Up
Orange and black are colors traditionally associated with Halloween. Halloween brides may want to wear a black wedding dress, such as one of the black wedding gowns mentioned in this article. Brides who want to keep the traditional white gown may want to look at those with some black details, such as belts, sashes, or other embellishment. Brides wearing a mostly white gown can ask bridesmaids to wear black dresses and carry a bouquet with orange flowers. Bridesmaids wearing black can add orange to their attire as well by selecting dresses that have the option of an orange sash cinched at the waistline. Bold brides who wear a mainly black gown should ask bridesmaids to choose gowns in shades of orange, perhaps with a black sash. A popular bridesmaid gown trend is for the bride to select a color and have each bridesmaid choose a style in that color, but that reflects their own style. Shops like David's Bridal have a variety of styles that can be selected by color.

For the bride birdcage veils are a fantastic alternative to traditional wedding veils and would be great for a Halloween themed wedding. Don't be afraid to wear dramatic make-up. Ask the make-up artist for a smoky eye or bold burgundy lips. The same holds true for the bridal party, only if the bridesmaids are wearing orange dresses focus on dramatic eye make-up and a nude lipstick, as bright red or wine colored lips won't look as great against the orange dresses. Pin curls or wavy hair like Veronica Lake's will add a romantic, old-Hollywood look.
