Ideas to Plan Your Meal

Roger C.
It is no easy task to plan a good and healthy meal. In this modern society, most of us are always in a rush. Having to go to work, lunch time, college, family, reunions with our friends, meetings, businesses, projects takes all our day and we feel we even need more time. We cannot function without food, so regardless of all our duties we have to give ourselves time to prepare a healthy meal everyday; otherwise we may get sick and we will lose even more time. By planning a meal you will not only stay healthy; it can save you time and money too.

Planning your meal may seem like an overwhelming task, but it doesn't have to be that way. If you look at it as a task then you won't enjoy it. It will seem long, painful and you will be spending a lot of time. You have other things to do and more responsibilities; you have to take care of yourself and your family, job, and house duties so adding one more task won't be very appealing.

By planning your meal you will save a lot of money. Eating out is very convenient, but a good meal is expensive. By eating at home you can have a great variety of foods which are healthy and delicious and far less expensive. Get creative with your meals and make something good and tasty for you and your family.

Fruits and vegetables must be an essential part of anyone's diet. They contain antioxidants, and a wide variety of vitamins and minerals. The more colorful they are, the richer in nutrients , so you can add some color to your meals and improve the quality and health of you and your family by adding them to your plan.

Proteins are another nutrient you must take into consideration while planning your meals. They can come from a lot different sources, but the best proteins are vegetable or come from fresh meat. Fish and chicken are better than beef because they contain a similar amount of proteins but they have less toxins and fat. If you are a vegetarian there are meat substitutes like soy or wheat protein of tofu as cheese substitute; they don't taste as good as meat does, but they are healthier.

Fiber is another important element. A fiber-rich diet will improve your digestive system by improving the absorption of nutrients and the disposal of toxins. This is not only good to lose weight and feel better; colon and stomach cancer are less likely to occur in people with a healthy digestive system.
