How to Get Married with a Red, White N' Blue Theme

Rosallee Scott
If you are planning on getting married on the Fourth of July or are just a patriotic couple no matter what time of year it is, having a Red, White n' Blue wedding is the way to go. From wedding attire, to decorations and place settings; here are some great ideas on an American themed ceremony and reception.

Patriotic Wedding Attire
Ideas include having a beautiful solid red wedding gown with blue bridesmaid dresses. A white gown with touches of red and/or blue trim or beading. You can go as classically elegant or fun and whimsical as you wish. Have all the bridesmaids where a pattern of stars on their dresses and the maid of honor wear stripes. Let them choose the solid color they want, either red, white or blue, and have all the trimmings in one of the opposite colors. Have bouquets or red and white roses trimmed with blue ribbons. Have a white bridal gown with red lace trimmings and blue lace petticoats that just peak out underneath the skirt. Matching the groomsmen is easy with white tuxedos and red and/or blue accessories.

Patriotic Wedding Decorations
Red, White N' Blue bouquets should take center stage at each of the tables. Red candles, placed in white ceramic bowls and surrounded by blue jewels, will add sparkle to each setting. White linen tablecloths, trimmed in red or blue lace, at each table will add to the American theme. Alternate red and blue napkins for the guests, as well as tying blue and red bows around each stem of the wine glasses. Simple crystal dishes, filled with red, white and blue candy or mints looks elegant as well as fun. Have special wine bottle labels made up featuring the American theme, from flags themselves to pictures of colorful Americana bouquets. Other ideas for planning a patriotic wedding include using red and blue prisms hooked onto white streamers around the room, small flags in each drink and having all the guest contribute the Red, White N' Blue theme by dressing accordingly for the event themselves.
