1. Hide in a box. Go to a store where they will have a large cardboard box. Wrap it up and put a big bow on it. Cut a hole in the bottom so you can easily hide inside. The top should also be easily moved. You can either have someone try and get her to lift up the top where you pop up with the ring. Or, you can pop out yourself when you hear her go over to the gift.
2. Hide the ring in a large box. Tell her you got her a big gift this year. Fill the inside with styrofoam so she'll have to dig through to find a smaller box which will contain the ring. Or, you could wrap a series of smaller boxes inside larger ones to where she will eventually unwrap the ring.
3. You can hide the ring in her stocking. Attach a tag to it so it doesn't get lost. On the tag write, "Will you marry me?"
4. Arrange for some Christmas carolers to come to the house. Have them sing one Christmas song. Then, have them sing a wedding song or hum the Wedding March. When she turns around, get on your knee and propose.
5. Set up a Christmas train around the tree on Christmas Eve. When she wakes up and you are sitting by the tree, she'll think it was cute you set up the train. Put the ring on the caboose and wait until she sees it. Attach a note as well. Or, you can paint on each of the train cars one word to the question, "Will you marry me?"
6. Take down all the Christmas ornaments and replace them with ones you made. This will take time. But, you love her, right? She's worth it! The ornaments you replace will have phrases and hearts drawn on them such as "I love you", "Merry Christmas Baby". She'll eventually find the one that says, "Marry me" and you can put the ring next to that ornament dangling from the tree or have it in your hand ready to get down on your knee when she sees the special ornament.
7. Propose at church. Get your priest/pastor in on it. Tell your bride-to-be that you are going to read a passage at church. Then have the priest/pastor call you up to read the passage. When you get the microphone, propose instead!
8. On Christmas Eve, enjoy a glass of wine. Use the ring as a wine charm. Offer to pour the wine. You could even go a step further and have the words "Will you marry me?" etched on the glass.
