Ideas for How to Propose on the Fourth of July

How to Ask Her to Marry You on July 4th

Rosallee Scott
If your sweetheart sets off fireworks in your heart whenever you kiss, propose on the Fourth of July. Declare your wish to no longer be independent by asking her to marry you this July 4th so every time you hear the Liberty Bell from now on, you'll both have stars in your eyes.

At a Barbecue
For a real whimsical approach, plan your marriage proposal at a barbecue in front of all of your family and friends. Read How to Throw the Perfect Fourth of July Barbecue and Easy Patriotic Table Decorations for inspiration. Options include to have the entertainment stop the music after your favorite romantic slow dance and drop to one knee or write it with ketchup as you serve her one of her plates, with the ring around a napkin ring.

At the Fireworks
Arrange beforehand to have one last fireworks display after the finale that asks her to marry you. Talk to the city, as well as the hired fireworks company for regulations and price. If this is not an option, arrange to have a banner dropped in front of her or held up by family and friends during the finale. Make sure to be on one knee as it happens. For extra fun, get both your faces painted with patriotic hearts and your initials, as in Patriotic Face Painting Design Ideas for the Fourth of July, for a cute picture together to remember the day.

Just the Two of You
If you want it more low-key, but still whimsical, plan for a few hours with just the two of you to ask her to marry you on July 4th. Read How to Create an Americana Garden to create a special oasis for just the two of you in your backyard. Spread a blanket and bring champagne and her favorite foods for a picnic to propose on the Fourth of July.
