Take into consideration of all the children's feelings before giving out gifts. If one child did not do as well as another, they may become jealous. It is a good idea to be specific about what gifts kids can earn. Share this information well in advance of the end of the school year. This will give everyone a fair shake at earning goodies.
Praise and More Praise
A few well-chosen words of praise may be all the treats your child needs. Shower your child with praise in front of the other family members at dinnertime or the next family meeting. If you have several children you'll need to recognize each child's achievements individually. Take the family to dinner and give praise in public.
Gift Cards
Inexpensive gift cards make nice gifts for an appreciation card. Give a card from the child's favorite fast food restaurant or tokens from a game arcade. Department stores are also good sources for gift cards too.
Learning Toys
Once summer is here, your child will be tempted to leave school behind, at least mentally. Buy learning toys for your child like handheld games, computers or trivia games. Science kits like a mini microscope kit or butterfly collection kits are nice gifts too.
Media Gifts
Surprise your child with a funny DVD about animals or kids. Compilation CDs sung by kids are exceptional favorites for children. Buy a single CD or a collection of musical hits. If your child has a music player, purchase a music download gift card for her to use.
Fun Time Tickets
Tickets to a show or party place are a kid's dream. Buy tickets to a properly rated movie or ice show. Kid friendly pizza or ice cream parlors are nice places to pre purchase tickets from. Purchase tickets to the circus, aquarium or a zoo. These are nice places to visit with kids for a reward.
