Paper and plastic bags are things we use every day, but we take for granted that to keep manufacturing these bags aren't great for the environment. Listed below are a few ways to get more uses out of your unwanted bags before completely discarding them.
Paper bags can be used for a number of different things, the possibilities really are limitless. The holidays are around the corner resulting in presents being bought, and ultimately needing to be wrapped. Take your paper bags and use them as wrapping paper, these can be decorated for any event, and can be decorated with a number of different items: markers, glitter, crayons, whatever your heart desires.
Book covers are a great idea for the re-use of paper bags. Every school usually requires a book cover of some sort to keep the cover and binding of their books in nice shape so they last for awhile. Making a book cover isn't hard to do, they save money, and also can be decorated for any age or school subject.
Paper bags can also be used for easier clean for craft project, instead of being a craft project. Just cut your paper bags out and lay them flat over your table, so whenever your children are working on an art project all you have to do is fold up the bags when you are finished and your table doesn't have dried glue or marker streaks running across the top of it.
Plastic bags can also be used for many things around your home, some you've probably never even thought of, or some you do already and never realized you were recycling. In the winter time ice always builds up on your side mirrors and most of the time you have to scrape it off yourself. Try placing a plastic bag over each side mirror and leave over night. When you wake up the next morning, take them off and walah, no ice on your side mirrors.
These can also be used to wrap your meats in the freezer. I recommend washing them first, and if you have left over's to put back in your freezer try using your plastic bags. Also you can your plastic bags to line the bottom of your cat's litter box, this makes clean up easier and more efficient.
Listed above are only a few ways that you can recycle your paper or plastic bags. Be creative, there are number of different ways you can use these everyday and help the environment at the same time.
