Spring is a great time to transform your bedroom. You don't need a large budget to do it either. An inexpensive springtime bedroom transformation will not only brighten your bedroom, but also your outlook on life. Here are some tips to help you transform your bedroom on a budget.
Try a different floor plan: Move everything. Pack up your bookshelves, accessories, and clutter and remove them from the room. Find brand new position for the bed, such as under a window or in a corner, and move the tables and dressers accordingly. Only put back the accessories you treasure and items you have actually used in the last year.
Add garden furniture accents: Some of the best bedroom designer pieces were not created for the bedroom. Items such as wall fountains, and iron wall sculptures created for the garden will add a wonderful designer touch to the bedroom. If you have a very large bedroom, consider a garden tea table by your favorite window.
Get out your paintbrush: The reason everyone says you should paint a room when you want a change is because it is true, but don't stop with the walls. If you have mis-matched furniture items, then go ahead and paint them all in a nice, crisp, white color to create a matched set.
Add a dynamic wall feature: Murals and wall designs aren't just for children. Consider vinyl letters and simple designs for the wall above your bed. A lovely monogram would be nice.
Freshen your bedding: You may not have two hundred dollars for brand new bedding and window treatments, but you can freshen what you have by purchasing a pile of bedsheets . You can use them to make duvet covers, or to hang as fresh window treatments as needed.
Update your headboard: If your bed is beginning to show it's age, it might be time to update it or create a new headboard. You can slipcover your existing headboard and foot board with just a couple yards of bright floral fabric, or use this tutorial to create a unique headboard of on your own.
