Make Pillows
Quilt blocks are the perfect size for making throw pillows for your couch or sofa. Just stitch a square of plain fabric to the back on 3 sides, stuff a pillow form or batting inside and close the opening for a custom made pillow. For larger pillow shams for the pillows on your bed you can stitch together several quilt blocks.
Make a Purse
What could be cuter than a quilt block purse? Pick up some pretty purse or tote handles from your local craft shop and attach them to a bag made from your quilt blocks for a pretty new purse in a jiffy.
Sew Some Hotpads
Another really easy way to use up leftover quilt blocks is to turn them into trivets or hot pads. Just use thin batting, a pretty fabric for the back and sew them into hot-pad-sized squares to make unique hot pads.
Make a Wall Hanging
If you have a lot of blocks in the same pattern or color scheme you can piece them together into a lovely wall hanging.
Make a Table Runner
Stitch leftover quilt blocks together in a long row to make a tablerunner for your table or mantle. This can be a fabulous way to dress up your table or also makes a great gift to give to someone special.
Frame Them
Who says that art for your walls has to be paintings or photographs? Buy some pretty picture frames and frame your quilt blocks to make a unique piece of framed art for your walls.
Sell Them
If you're not up to the idea of crafting your own projects out of leftover quilt blocks you can turn them into cash instead. Try selling them online through auctions and use the money you make to buy fabric for your next quilting project.
Most importantly, use your imagination! There are so many fun ways to use leftover quilt blocks and with a little bit of creativity you can be sure to come up with some clever ideas of your own.
