Ideas for Valentines Day Gifts

Elle Hunt
Valentine's Day is coming up. Only 10 more days. What will you get your Valentine? Haven't a clue? Neither do I, so I have come up with some sweet ideas to get your imagination up and running. I guarantee that you will find something to spark your interest.

Slip a gift card to their favorite store inside a colorful envelope or make your own envelope for that matter. Don't know what his favorite store is? Think of what he likes, what he plays with often, and what type of store he goes into most often. Regifting is notorious. Great idea of course, but what if it comes back and bites you in the ass. Like karma. Gift cards are perfect for those of us who really do want to get the perfect gift but are unsure of just what that is. And, his added gift to you will be to see him choosing that gift with the card. It is like watching a kid in a candy shop.

Paint a picture of them. On the other hand, draw one, doesn't matter. Whatever you are comfortable with. If you want it to be a surprise, I am sure, you can find an old picture of them, maybe from when they were a kid. Alternatively, you could wait until they are asleep and capture that moment then. Don't forget to frame it.

Here is my favorite. Buy groceries together, rent a movie. Make a romantic menu together and then enjoy it while watching a late night movie in front of a roaring fire. Romantic huh? Mix in a food fight while making menu to bring out any tensions/stress.

Select gorgeous stationary and write out ten reasons why you love him/her. For that matter write out 1000, or maybe even ten. Think of when you first saw him/her and muddle through the details. What caught your interest and what has held it throughout the years or maybe months.

Lingerie. This is understood. Female lingerie is a no brainer, but what do you give a guy for lingerie? Silk boxers. Actually, that's all I can really think of. If you're stuck on that part go to a shop that sells lingerie for all sexes. There are tons of options, I promise you that.

Framed poem. I know, cheesy right but it works. Not really into writing sappy thoughts on paper? Go to the library and look up the famed poets of days gone by. Cummings, Dickinson, or Eliot. Just a few. If you can't come up with a whole poem on your own, you can get help from your female friends who know you two well. Maybe even just a quote will do. A one-liner is always a favorite with guys, and hey, it might work this time. LOL.

A compilation of love songs is always a great gift to make and if you choose the right songs, it is always a great gift to receive as well.

A pressed flower/fake rose-- Tell them you'll love them until it dies, or something cheesy like that. Of course, that is only with the fake rose because the pressed flower is already dead of course.

Hopefully, my little article has spurned your imagination and got you thinking. Remember Valentines Daye is only days away! So get going.
