Ideas for Winter Party Themes

Celebrate the Shortest Day of the Year in Style

T.K. Moyer
The winter solstice occurs somewhere between December 21st and December 22nd each year in the Northern Hemisphere, and on June 21st or June 22nd in the Southern Hemisphere. Celebrate the event with a Winter Solstice Party for you and your friends. Check out these great tips for Winter Party Themes.

Warm Weather Snow Party

If you live in a warm weather climate check out a product called Insta Snow Powder and turn your whole yard into a winter wonder land even if its 90 degrees outside. This product works well and a little bit goes a long way. This product also makes a great decoration for Christmas.

Cold Weather Swim Party

Keep it indoors so that nobody gets sick, but invite guests to show up in their favorite swimwear and decorate using summer time decorations. You can also use this party as a sort of display of new hot bathing suits for the upcoming year. Complete your party with a polar bear dip if you have a pool, or a run through the sprinkler if you don't. Your neighbors will think you are crazy.

Winterize your favorite Cartoon

If you or your kids are really into cartoons encourage guests to arrive decked out as their favorite cartoon. Make sure you let guests know that they are to be dressed in their best winter garb for their character. Pick a specific theme and encourage all guests to arrive dressed as their favorite Disney Character, their favorite Charlie Brown Character, or their favorite Sunday Comic Strip Character.

Winter Bonfire

Have guests wear their favorite outdoor clothing. If you live in a part of the country where party goers would like to go hunting have guests show up in camouflage. Not in a hunting area? Have guests dress up like their favorite outdoor characters such as Smokey the Bear, Al Borland, Bill Dance, etc.

Ice Palace

If you and your guests would like to dress up and don your best Tux, then consider decorating your event as a grand ice palace. Make sure and have plenty of icicles, fake snow, and white table cloths. Have party goers be able to pose for pictures in front of a winter backdrop to make lasting members.

Winter party themes are easy to come by and you can winterize just about any idea you can come up with, just be creative and get to thinking.
