I am talking about time. Time is literally never on our side. Pay very close attention to the passage of time in your life. How much of this precious commodity have you squandered lately on unnecessary activities? I am not talking about playing a game etc, but fighting, arguing about unimportant things. We spend this precious commodity worrying about things we can not change in the end. When it comes to time, we are all helpless. We never know how much time we have left. How much time is given to us?
In my household the following thoughts could easily reflect any of a thousand households across America. The adults spend endless hours working either from their homes or away from homes. When they finally get home each seems to have their own personal entertainments to go to. Household chores, errands and more are also on the list. By the time we are finally done at night most of us sit down to a hurried dinner in front of the TV and then fall to sleep exhausted from the days rushing around. If we have children often they receive less and less of our time. Again the word time keeps creeping up.
Today I would like to challenge you to sit down and make a list of the many things you would like to have in your life. Make another list with all the things you have to do each day and take a close look at your priorities. Even if money is there, how much time do you have left spending it with your family, your friends?
Time seems to be slipping away from us constantly. If you are an Internet Gaming fan play one of those timed matching games some times. Really play it in earnest and notice how as the levels become harder you seem to constantly run out of time.
If we loose everything tomorrow there is a very good chance that we can replace most of the items we have accumulated. It may be a hard road doing it for some of us and yes heirlooms may be lost, but what you can not replace is the time you have spent before and the memories you have gathered along with your items.
We value and treasure, money, gold, jewelry, our cars, houses, games and more, and guard them jealously. But we don't guard our time. Take a good look at your life today and honestly answer this question for yourself. Have you spend what time you have had in your life wisely? If time was an investment, have you been investing it to bring you the best return? I urge you to take a good look at all of it today, this minute, and this second so you don't loose another moment of your time unnecessarily.
Prioritize and make spending this precious commodity time with your loved ones, friends that are of a positive nature in your life, going out in nature whenever possibly and enjoying what free time you have top of your list. Going out drinking, doing drugs, gambling does nothing but waste your time. Not only does it steal what you time you have in the here and now, but will also steal time in your future.
Instead of always trying to be right, try taking some time listening to the view point of others. Arguments can be healthy, but when you spend all your time being argumentative you have just wasted a big portion of it, not to mention you become almost impossible for most people to be around. Instead of trying to run everyone else life, trying to force your religion on them, telling someone how they should live their life, perhaps you can safe those valuable moments for yourself and make your life more positive.
I would like to challenge you with one finale thought.
If you were to die today and you had to look back on your life, can you honestly say that you have spent your time wisely? That you have taken your free time and have spend it in a splendid way that made you a happier and well rounded individual? If you can honestly answer this question with a resounding yes, then congratulations you are one of very few. Please don't stop doing what it is you are doing. If you are like the rest of us, maybe it is time you join me in examining your personal habits and life and make it not only more productive, but happier, more balanced and filled with joy and love.
Spend every moment of the rest of your life as if it was your very last second on earth. Live life to the fullest and don't squander the one thing you will eventually run out of no matter how rich you are. Love deeply, live well and laugh loud.
