Repressionist Poem #3

J L Carey Jr

Come - come the fall

Like a dream to carry us

Into the darkest sleep

Come - come the fall

Let us not kid ourselves

When the scarab comes to call

Come - come the fall

With the cold steel skies

And the nakedness of trees

Come - come the fall

Let the curtain be pulled,

Let the Wizard be exposed

Come - come the fall

Break this flower apart

And let us see what new will come
