Idlewild Park is one of the oldest amusement parks in the country. It is located in Ligonier Pennsylvania about 2 hours from Pittsburgh. It's still a low keyed park, which offers many opportunities to make memories with your family. It doesn't have the fast pace roller coasters but with the trees and the old time theme, it's a great way to spend the day. This is a park for families with young children and there are many things to do at this park. For the price of one admission you can ride the rides at Idlewild, visit Storybook Forest, visit Mr. Rogers neighborhood and ride the water rides at soak zone in the park.

They have the usual amusement park rides like the Ferris wheel, and the Merry-go-round and the whip. These rides have been there for many years. Idlewild Park still has a wooden rollercoaster. It's not high or that scary, but still thrills many children that ride it. There is a park for the younger children there, Raccoon Lagoon, which has the rides for the little ones that is spectacular. It is reported that this is one the largest kiddie land in all the parks. Kids will have a great time there with so many different rides just for them. It's a park within a park. They have little boats that children can ride in the ride that kids like was the hand car ride where they go along a track by using a hand crank to move along the tracks.
