I-Doser: Sound Clips That Get You High

Jon Jacob
The other day I was surfing the web looking for some good meditative learning cds and somehow I came up with these sound clips being advertised. I found these strange clips at www.I-doser.com. Their website slogan is "Binaural Brainwave doses for Every Imaginable Mood". I was intrigued to say the least about these "I-doses". I will first have to explain how they supposedly work to give us many different desired feelings form being high to sleepy. What each sound clip is designed to do is synchronize your brainwaves by playing sounds at a certain beat frequency. The brain then will synchronize itself with that certain frequency and you will feel the feelings associated with said frequency. So, we are changing brainwave activity by introducing sound frequencies via headphones. We can bypass the central nervous system and go straight to the brain, which then creates the feeling. This was all very confusing until I realized that it truly is the brain which creates our feelings.

From oxycontin to crystal meth most of the I-Doser tunes are associated with a certain recreational drug. Most tracks last from 20:00 to 35:00 minutes long and at first listen seem to be very boring. Not something you would listen to on your way to work. Some people say that these doses of sound frequencies work very well for them and some never have the slightest desired effect. This may have to do with the way you conduct your Dosing session.

Before listening to a tune from the I-Doser library you have to prepare a bit. As I already mentioned you want to use headphones of the best quality possible. You also want to be sure that nothing is going to interrupt your listening session. So turn your cell phone off and make sure you will be alone and undisturbed for the duration of your I-Dose tune. Another tip is to listen in complete darkness while lying down in a comfortable spot. You want to dull all other senses in order to fully concentrate on the sound frequencies which will overload your brain. I would think that one who is a bit practiced in meditation would be able to tune in much easier. Don't play your dose too loud but at a soft, comfortable level.

The I-Doser website says that there are three types of I-Dose listeners. The first will easily get the desired effects from listening to a dose. The second group of people will have to practice and try hard to get any effects but will eventually be rewarded and soon be able to tune into their I-doser feelings. The third group of listeners are those who are immune. These people just don't get the feelings from the doses and probably never will. It isn't explained why these people aren't compatible but the site offers free samples before you purchase some doses.

I have so far listened to a few of the doses I have on my computer. I have gotten a little feeling from a few of them but I haven't fully taken all the steps that I was supposed to for full effects to take place. I haven't even listened to one all the way through. They are pretty long clips and sound much like a series of beeps and hisses. I have been hoping to find some time to sit down and relax and truly sample a good dose. After reading some experiences on the website it sounds a bit frightening to use these sound waves. Are these people just having a placebo effect or is this stuff real? Could this replace an addict's need for drugs by substituting an I-Dose? It's doubtful this would work because the addict would still be getting high. They wouldn't be ruining their body and finances though. This could be a very positive aspect of I-Doser. I will definitely write about it if I get as high as you are supposed to with a dose. So far though I can't fully say I believe in the effects of I-Doser tunes. Why not check out some of the free samples though just in case it works for you. How fun would that be to get high simply by listening to a sound clip? Just hope you don't go crazy or become addicted as many who use real drugs do.
