Firstly, you must understand what causes acne. It's not a dirty face or dry skin. I remember someone once told me "Acne is when your skin is too dry so your skin makes oil to moisturize it, but makes too much resulting in acne." WRONG. The cause of acne is sebum. (Pronounced see-bum.) Sebum is a natural oil in our skin but it is not released when we have dry or dirty skin, it is released when our hormones surge. This explains why teens get bad acne while experiencing puberty. Also why women have outbreaks before their periods and before menopause. So there it is; an excess of hormones causes the skin to release extra sebum which results in nasty and ugly acne.
Now that you know your enemy, how do you defeat it?
That is a good question. The awful truth is that there is no real way to stop acne. It is always going to happen naturally weather you are young or old. There will always be times in your life that your body creates extra sebum that clogs your pores and leaves you with acne. I hate to say it, but give up the fight. You can not win. It is you as a person versus your body. It is like trying to fight the government; it won't work! You can not stop it so you have to simply contain it. (That's right, not even acne treatments like Proactiv stop acne. It simply contains it and keeps it under control.)
Now, you have a big date coming up with the person that you may spend the rest of your life with! That is, if you make every right move and play your cards right. I'm sorry to say that lots of people are shallow and acne is a big turn off. You have to get it under control before it completely ruins your destiny and your self esteem. You need an awesome acne treatment.
I'm sure you have already been thinking of trying Proactiv. After seeing Jessica Simpson and Avril Lavigne on the commercials who would not want to try it? If some huge idol says it works, why not believe them? Well, there are a couple reasons. Think of this: When someone like Avril Lavigne does a commercial for Proactiv and says "It really works!" they get paid crap-tons of money. So of course they are going to say that the product works. Who wouldn't do a minute long commercial for several thousand dollars?
I have personally tried Proactiv and it didn't work. It didn't eliminate my acne like it said it would (which should be considered false advertising because there is no way to eliminate acne) and it didn't even get it under control. FACT: 5% of people that have tried Proactiv have had allergic reactions! Think about that... Proactiv has sold to millions of people and 5% of one million is fifty-thousand. The chances of being allergic to Proactiv are too high. To my dismay, I was one of those people that were allergic.. The acne treatment Proactive made my skin swell and turn extremely red as though I had bad sunburn. I do not recommend this acne treatment.
However, if you are going to go the route of using an acne treatment, I suggest you try Dermology. I tried Proactiv and it didn't work and I was very allergic, I tried other creams and remedies and they sometimes worked a little but not to the extent that I had hoped. But finally I found Dermology and they offered a 14 day free trial on their site so I did a little research and gave it a shot. (I found that WebMD, CNN, and CBS all reviewed it and gave it praise.) Now, I'm not going to lie, as there is no cure for acne, Dermology didn't take away all my acne. But it DID made a tremendous difference. Within a couple days of using it my severe acne had become barely visible. No other acne treatment had ever done this well for me. Out of all the things I have tried, Dermology has been the best. I may still try some other acne treatments in the future, but until I find one better, Dermology is my favorite.
Now, I know I'm not Jessica Simpson or Avril Lavigne, but I am a normal person just like you and I suggest you try Dermology. It has done wonders for me and chances are, it will do so for you as well. You can try it free for 14 days, or you can just dive in and buy a full supply. If you do just go ahead and buy it instead of trying the trial, Dermology offers a 100% money back guarantee that it will work for you. No questions asked.
So do yourself a favor and give Dermology a try. Just use this link to get your free 14 day trial.
