If Your Child is College Bound, Consider a Community College in Oregon

Now I am a huge fan of community colleges. They are much cheaper than regular colleges and I think the staff are a lot more approachable since the class sizes tend to be smaller in ratio, which means a lot more one on one time with your teacher to make sure the material really got in your head. Below I listed three in the beautiful state of Oregon that are most popular with the just out of high school corrupted ready to be responsible late teenagers out there.

PCC has a number of great non-education classes as well as some great credit classes you can take to reach your future career path. As for the non-education side. These are classes you can take for fun or skill building and they range from card making to writing effective grant proposals. In addition, with a number of different campuses strategically placed throughout the Portland area with a new location opening soon in Beaverton, you will never have far to travel to obtain or pursue your goals in life. www.pcc.edu

Located in the shadow of Mt. Hood. Mt. Hood community college has two locations in Gresham and one in NE Portland. The community college has a mission to provide knowledge based education, build strong communities and adapt to change. This mission statement pretty much reflects what all colleges do or strive to do, it is a great mission and it works pretty well. The classes are great and very informative. The instructors are very knowledgeable in their studies. Mt Hood College opened in 1966 and has over 27,000 students a year in attendance. Ranging from accounting to fishery technology, all three campuses offer a great learning experience for the future leaders of America. www.mhcc.cc.or.us

Tillamook Community College is located in Tillamook, Oregon, which is on the northern coast of Oregon, home of the world famous Tillamook cheese. From business development to sports education in the continuing education classes to industrial maintenance in the credit classes, Tillamook College is a rather small college but they offer a wide range of classes. Tillamook is a great location with the beach in rather close quarters to the location of the school. In addition, if you enroll in the credit classes and you take more than 12 credits you get a free pass to the local YMCA! How cool is that? You don't even have to pay to exercise. www.tbcc.cc.or.us

Concluding my work in the health care field, I have decieded to go back to school to pursue another career. Since taking online courses, I have become glued to the computer, and found my love of writing again.  View profile
