If You Have Children, You Need a Daycare

Things to Consider when Choosing a Daycare

When taking care of babies, you have to change them frequently, feed them and nurture them. If you can stay home and be a mom, nothing can be quite like it. I work at a daycare and we see so many things that it breaks my heart that more moms can't or don't want to stay home with their kids. Even if all you had was one child, being there for its first steps and first words and all the other goodies can really make it worth it.

Even though you have to change diapers every two hours and feed a baby a good bottle or nurse even an hour every three hours, it's the little kisses and hugs and the fact that they need you can be very rewarding. I don't have kids. And I don't know if I can have them, or even if I'll ever have a husband. But working at Rainbow Day Child Care Academy has been the best job I ever had. I look forward to going and I love working with the kids. If I could, I would figure out a way to be home with my kids if I had them.

If you have to choose a daycare, I highly recommend a Christian day care. The ratios are better and often times the interactions are a lot better. Many day cares are like factories it seems and at that tender age, you really need to be careful with who you send your child to. Also, a Christian day care instills a habit of prayer and truthfulness and forgiveness and patience.

If you had to send your child to daycare, I would be very careful of daycares that have high ratios. They tend to cram in kids and there is little time for interaction between feedings and diapering. And children need to know they are loved. Even if you want to provide the best clothes and goodies for your kids, its better to buy used stuff and save money to stay at home for the first developmental years so they can bond with you. Children who experience separation anxiety from their parents is actually a good thing and can make a better bond with your children than having them so used to daycare they will go with anyone.

Child rearing is a challenge, but they can also be sweet if you respect the fact that you are the parent and don't spoil them and give into every whim. Children need to feel secure above all else. And if you do need to send your child to daycare to provide for them, at least choose a safe, nurturing environment, like a Christian daycare.
