If I Could Only Cry

Melissa Lawson
I know that I'd feel better,
if I could only cry;
If I could only let out
all the hurt I have inside.
If only I could let those
teardrops fall on down,
Then maybe, when I turn back,
I could gain some better ground.

A woman sometimes needs
the warmth of a man;
Someone who she cares about
and knows would understand.
A woman sometimes needs
to cry on a man's shoulder;
Someone who really cares for her
and would closely hold her.

I sit here, in my room,
with so much on my mind;
But, needing someone to hold me,
there's no one I could find.
So now, here I sit,
with all these things inside --
Knowing I'd feel much better,
if I could only cry.

    Sad. Sometimes the pain is unbearable but we continue to go through the motions of our daily lives. It makes us feel isolated, numb, and simply too tired to cry. I like this poem. It expresses a lot of emotion.

    I think many can relate to this.
