If You Are a Father

Jean Davis

If you are fortunate enough to be called Father count yourself most blest.

I hope in your daily walk here you are following the example of the very best.

God in heaven gives us the perfect example to guide us.

He loves us unconditionally but He expects us to follow His commands.

They are not hard to follow at all if we put ourselves in His capable hands.

The road ahead will seem so long when you see that tiny little person for the very first time; so small as to fit within your two hands.

You watch with pride as the months go by and before you know it, on his own two feet this little toddler stands.

You are to raise that child with a Father's love but you have a responsibility, too.

Sometimes that love has to come with discipline even though it breaks your heart in two.

You set an example before your child but then other influences creep in.

You may get discouraged at times and your patience will wear thin.

These are the times to go to your Heavenly Father for strength, comfort and a word from above.

The road from infancy to adulthood gets shorter as the years race by and you see the results of that Fatherly love.
