If I Had a Mic

Buddy Reed

If I had a Mic,
I'd treat it like a spittoon, in a saloon,
Trying to fill it each night.
I'd create pictures that could only be seen
Through words not visual sight.

If I had a mic,
I'd preach Peace in the East and all Earth.
Offering trade herbs, Frankensense, and Myrth.
No man, nor woman would hunger,
For my words will be food.

If I had a mic,
I would not profane, curse or be rude,
No lie would be told,
All truth I would hold,
And I could not be bought or sold.

If I had a mic,
I'd spit till I was old.
From my mouth great wisdom would flow,
Teaching youth wrong from right;
If I had a mic.
