If You Hadn't Kissed Me at All

Kathrine Bryan
This little thing you did to me

A quick little glimpse into romance

Feelings of utter confusion

Could have been prevented

If you hadn't kissed me at all

I had given up on love

And built a wall around me

Guarding myself from heartache

But I'm changed

Because for a moment, I let those walls fall

You enabled me to reach out again

And let someone hold me

And as painful as that last goodbye was

I wouldn't have known

If you hadn't kissed me at all

I should be angered and misguided

I should be furious

Because of what's happening

But you brought out a part of me

That is optimistic

I am now hopeful and ambitious and somewhat... happy

And although it should not have happened

And although you made me cry

In that moment, everything was real and I realized

You made me alive again

This would have never happened

If you hadn't kissed me at all

I liked this, esp. the way it changed by the end.
