The time has come to face it, the two of us have begun
a friendship through our poetry and we've been having lots of fun.
I had you for a little while, but you finally tracked me down,
Sweet, lonely, poet, I'm so glad, that I've been finally found!
Thank you for the offer, to let the world go to hell,
If I could, I would, believe me, and then who could tell.
But, I'll hold you in my dreams and you may never know,
just how much I wanted you, but was afraid to show.
I've thought about how very nice, being with you could be
in that frozen far off land a wilderness man and me.
If hearts could fly I'd be there, in a twinkling of an eye
in that far off Northern land where the land meets the sky.
Dreams of tall trees round us we'd sit and write epic poetry
but then I stop to contemplate, sadly, how all this can not be.
Friends we'll have to savor, because time is far from right
to be more to each other, although, I secretly, wish we might.
I've chains of limitations, to which I must comply,
but your words enchant my soul, as well as delighting my eyes.
And in my heart, I'm wishing, you were, that special one,
because you are so fantastic and it's been so darn much fun.
