If you are truly serious about not eating so much junk foods, then your best option would be to not have them in your home. Having junk in your home will only make cravings worst. If you must have a snack then a great snack of choice is the 100 calorie snack. This way if you happen to be craving you can eat a bag of these tasty treats and that should curb your hunger for junk. This key is not to deprive yourself totally from junk, but to know that you can do without when you don't have them, and most importantly junk foods are not great choices on a daily basics. Another thing that can be done is to drink a glass of water. Water tends to make you feel fuller so drinking a cup full of water will make your craving less intense.
Some people tends to think that if you set goals that there is a certain type of food that you say that you are no longer allowed to eat than you will want it even more. Some of this may be true, but if you are a true junkie you have to set goals that starts off slowly such as right away don't try to sample a piece of cake if you are a junkie of junk food. Later when you have this down then is the time that you should try to only eat serving sizes of junk food, but starting to taste junk foods when you are just beginning can be a setback for your goals. So if you are a beginner then no nibbling is a wiser decision.
Another good tip for not craving junk is to always have a healthy treat near you at all times especially at work, or when you are not at home. A half of peanut butter and jelly sandwich, 100 calorie pack snack, or two handfuls of grapes are all three things that have curb my appetite and it works every time. Taking snacks with you when you leave home is also a good idea because you want be tempted to buy snacks that are not good for you. Overall know that it is said that anything in moderation can be tolerated, but it is best to make wiser choices if you have been a junk food junkie before.
