If My Lottery Wish Comes True: Five Things I Would Do

Shirley Norling
We all dream of winning a big lottery in our lifetime. They used to send us sweepstakes entries via the mail to the enter the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes, now you also have the option to just enter online. When you go buy gas, those lottery tickets are right there in front of you at the checkout to purchase. I've entered every way possible to way a big sweepstakes or lottery. Unfortunately, I've never won one. If I did win one though, although that chance seems quite slim, here are 5 of the top ways it probably change my life.

1. Quit my job: I don't have the worst the job in the whole wide world by any means, in fact I pretty much enjoy it the 3 days a week 6 hrs. a day I work, but it would be silly if I was millionaire and still drove 25 miles each way to punch a time clock. So that would definitely be going. I've worked a good part of my adult life so that would be a life changing experience for me.

2. Buy a home on a Minnesota Lake: I've always wanted to live on the lakeshore and I've always wanted a log cabin, so I'd probably make that one of my 5 top life changing dreams with my lottery winnings. It wouldn't have to be a mansion on the waterfront, just big and cozy enough for me and my honey with some extra guest bedrooms for family and friends visits. I'd also buy a pontoon boat so we could lazily drift up and down the lake. I'd probably get a fishing boat for my honey, as he's an avid fisherman, and we sold our boat when we downsized our living quarters a few years ago.

3. Help family members who could use a little helping hand. After paying off the few bills we owe, I'd try and make life a little easier for my 2 sons and their families. I have never had the opportunity to lend a helping, other then on a small scale, so it would give me a good feeling to be able to help my kids and grandkids with schooling etc.

4. Take a luxury cruise vacation: We have taken a couple of cruise vacations over the years and I love cruising. They haven't been anything too luxurious, but they were enjoyable. This would be the best of the best, the cream of the crop, in the best cabin on the whole ship, no holes barred.

5. Enjoy each and every day to its fullest: As we get up their in age, we never how many good days we may have left. (I felt that way this past week when I was fighting my viral infections.) So I would put as much as humanly possible into each and every day. If I wanted to go out and eat, weather it's breakfast, brunch or dinner I'd do it. If I wanted to spend the whole day shopping, I'd do it and if I really like something I'd buy it out without having to constantly look at the price tag first. If I wanted to stay in bed all the day I'd do that too, but chances are I'd probably be doing very little of that.

Now those are my top life changing priorities for my big lottery win. I'll let you all know if and when it ever happens.

An excellent wish list it is! Log homes are very popular and if you live at a lake you have to have a pontoon boat!
