Pasadena, CA 91105

Tucked away in an alley just off Colorado Boulevard, the Crème de la Crepe Restaurant is a sweet new crêperie that just opened in Pasadena on December 2009. A comfy little French café featuring breakfast, lunch and dinner crepes, as well as other well known French specialties like beef bourguignon, chicken Marsala or Dijon, steak au poivre vert, salmon en croute, scallops la belle lina, quiche and escargot.

The friendly, enthusiastic staff will answer any questions you may have about the menu despite the hustle bustle going on in the small restaurant.

They have eight delicious breakfast crepes and a daily special, including; Martinale, Complete, Japonnaise, Genereuse, Payanne, Allechante, Fromage, and Anneclenne (which are priced from $8.95 to $10.95). They also serve omelettes, sweet breakfast crêpes and a variety of other egg dishes.

If you get a chance, try their carrot soup at lunch, a unique offering that is creamy and delicious, served with freshly baked bread and soft butter. Their lunch appetizer menu includes; soup du jour, escargot, a pâté plate, a cheese plate and Napoleon salad (tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese and basil). You can choose from their eight lunch salads (from $9.95 to $10.95) or try their pasta, quiches, panninis, sandwiches, or one of the dozen lunch crêpes they offer. Or you can have fun making your own creation, where you get to choose the vegetable, cheese, meat or fish, and sauce for your own crepe.

Dinner choices include a magnificent array of appetizers, salads, quiches, fondue, pasta, a variety of dinner crêpes, and raclette (a specialty from the French and Swiss Alps; raclette cheese is melted over potatoes and charcuteries- French ham, prosciutto and smoked turkey- and served with baby greens and apples).

The sweet dessert crepes that are offered are; sucree, gourmande, Royale, savoureuse, fondante, coquine, splendide, douce, zidane, daph, Suzette, crème de la crepe and la guillotine (priced from $3.95 to $7.95). As if all these choices weren't enough, you can make your own sweet crepe, adding your choice of toppings, fruit, flambé liqueurs and whipped cream.

On Friday and Saturday nights between 7pm and 11pm they host jazz musicians to entertain you, and they also offer small groups cheese and wine tasting parties.

Crème de la Crepe is located at 36 W. Colorado Blvd, Pasadena CA 91105, (located on Mills Alley). Their hours are 8am-10pm Monday -Thursday, on Friday and Saturday nights they are open until 1am. For more information call 626-844-0007 or visit their website to find their other locations in Culver City, Hermosa Beach, Long Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach.
