If Only He..

April Higney
He did not try to impress her heart by using words
that were thought to be impressing for her to hear.
Naturally flowing, simply spoken.
If only he were more than a dream, speaking into her ear.

His hands, gentle yet strong, hers, he traced his fingers along,
that never held ill-forced intent.
Naturally flowing, truly meant.
If only he were more than a dream, the touch to her soul, he sent.

He did not try to capture her gaze upon his eyes,
yet the shining smile held her like a warm embrace.
Naturally flowing, deeper meaning showing.
If only he were more than a dream, holding her in this place.

His kiss, softest sweetness, with passions held in his lips,
only wanting the lasting desire, sparked in her fire, endless flame.
Naturally flowing, love-making, both glowing.
If only he were more than a dream, emotions shared, balanced much the same.

He did not try to be perfect, neither did she,
yet everything between them came so easily.
Naturally flowing, giving, receiving.
If only he were more than a dream,
she holds him closely,
as maybe someday he will be.
