If Only You Knew

Hope Newton
If only you knew...

When you left my heart shattered into a million pieces

How I cry myself to sleep every night, wishing you were still here

The days that felt like a blur because I was too numb to think

Every day I see something that reminds me of you

Each time I do I hold back the tears, until I'm all alone

The things I did to forget you,

The way I almost threw my life away, just to get you out of my head

The person I became, selfish, angry, hurt and bitter

The butterflies in my stomach when I think about you

How no one else could take your place

How I'd come back the minute said you wanted me back

How I still loved you, even after the things you did

That in my heart you'll always be my best friend, my baby, my everything!
