Holding the thoughts and mixing the colors,
If you can paint and listen to music blasting
Blending into a sea of artistic wonders,
If you can make an outline without thinking
Drawing without pen on paper,
Or find a quiet corner where no one is sitting
You wield the power of the creator
If you can make an outline in a minute,
And utilize unity and variety,
If composition lures you within it
And inspiration flows freely,
If you can touch and feel the stoneware clays
Amorphous and soft, this I swear
Or roll out a canvas when the teacher says
Many will gravitate towards your flair
If you can be modest of your accomplishments
And still be competitive and ambitious,
If you can acknowledge the evident
And still be creative and capricious,
If you can sit inside Union Station
And ignore vicious comment and glare,
If you can peacefully draw the location
You will overcome all your fears,
If you will take all that you learn in Art
And apply those lessons to assist the poor,
If you will learn these lessons from your heart
I'm sure you will learn some more,
If you will do all of the above
Engaged in studying in visual art,
You will find that humanity is full of loveOf which you will take a part.
