If She Doesn't Write Back

Dan Reveal
"Don't give in too soon," said the secret barrier,
"or else you might exploit the recipe bread."
I always drove too fast so she'd call me 'Tiger,'
and didn't consider the roadside dead.

And why quibble over pronunciation,
when your alias marker just won the horseshoe kiss?
I always drove too fast so she'd give me a few back seat minutes,
but it was those talks with her children that I really miss.

If she doesn't write back one more time,
will I have to go again to the painted pain of art?
You don't have to be reclusive to take center stage,
as long as your first date teenage car will start.

"The whole world has been lifted," said the bookshelf trophy,
"yet replenishes its own with hearty breakfast knife in hand."
I always drove too fast so she'd think I was captain of my soul,
when I was really just a sad and lonely man.

I always drove too fast so she'd think I was captain of my soul,
when I was really just a sad and lonely man.

If she doesn't write back one more time,
will I have to go again to the painted pain of art?
You don't have to be reclusive to take center stage,
as long as your first date teenage car will start.

The presumed need to be anything other than exactly what God made us to be in an attempt to garner the approval and love of someone, robs the world of unique blessings. It is only when you are authentic and real that others deserve your time and attention. Thank you for being real. This poem is awesome.
