If I Were

Imaginations

Mrs.Rogers
If I were anything but who who I am today, I would imagine within myself what little creature, or animal perhaps that I would be. This is something as children we do so often that it is like second nature. As adults we tend to stay away from these types of allusions. Often though when our lives have become mundane, or plain, even at times boring we find ourselves thinking of some rather peculiar things. I have often found a little insect or maybe even an animal I would like to trade places with from time to time. No, I am not weird, just imaginative, and I want to share them with readers, readers who enjoy this type of thing.

We have all seen from our own animals just how comforting it is to be them. I have imagined what it would be like to be my ShihTzu, Snoopy. He has it made really, mean think about it, love in an unlimited supply, an open access to food and water, and even a space here or there, he can visit whenever he wants to. No one to tell him no, except on brief occasions, and he can walk in dirt, water, and never has to wipe his feet. Now that seems pretty cozy to me. Snoopy gets rub downs unlimited, and he can eat from their plates, chase a toy when he cares to and run around a room and not be told to stop... I just love animals, and I especially love my Snoopy. He is treated well, and he is special. Wouldn't you like to be him? I have wanted to a time or two.

Once in a while I like to go outside and look at my flowers, trees and things. I have noticed that Praying Mantis' have a pretty nice life as well. Mantis for short, are auspicious creatures. They peer around their tiny or large heads, depending upon their size, and they search for other insects to devour and make "waste of". I love the way the camouflage their selves as to hide from the people or other insects that lurk nearby. I have imagined that a Mantis is a cool little insect and that being one of them would be spectacular. They really have the run of the vegetational gardens, shrubs, and spots. I have even been intimidates a bit when watching how they take a prey and destroy it. They truly are a work of genius. Being one might make me tough and respected, something most humans look to be for themselves,

Have you ever stopped and wondered about fish and what they must be thinking? I have and personally , I do not think i would like to be them, well at least not a pet fish. Think about it, they swim, blow bubbles and eat...Wow, I do not know about you but that it more than boring to me. Also, wondering when they are going to be fed has to be tough, How many fish owners feed their fish at th same time, with the same amount, everyday? Not many I would propose. As a human I need to know when I can get some food, what I will be eating, and I make sure it is enough to fill me up. Sometimes on the rarest occasions, a fish will get new scenery, and then it makes swimming difficult, because all the room gets "sucked" up by all the different things and props. Imagine if the owner forgets to clean that fish tank, talk about stinking and suffocating for that poor fish. No, I would not want to be a domesticated fish.

I guess the most fantastic creature I have ever imagine is a bird. I like the way the wind carries them and I like the grace of it all. Birds are fascinating and they are never alone. Just think about it, they always have other birds anywhere they go. No loneliness, sign me up! Birds also can eat what they choose, when they choose, excellent perks. I would imagine that being a bird would have its share of dangers though from other predators, and humans that hunt them. It is no news though that humans and animals will always have predators. I imagine being a bird is like freedom with wings. Freedom to fly, to soar, and to see all there is to see in our beautiful world. Is it not the greatest place? Being a bird can be very uplifting, and don't we all want to be uplifted from time to time.

Animals and insects, two of the greatest worldly designs and inhabitants. I would love to have a chance to be one, if only in my imaginations. I am not saying humanity is not for me, because I would not change that part of me ever. Somewhere though inside that little space in the mind of us all, we have imagined "What if I were..." Come on, admit it, you know you have...If you haven't then you might should, because only until we know where we are, look at what we were, and see where we can go, do we truly know ourselves.
