If Wishes Were Horses

Analogies of Pain

A Powers
If wishes were horses, beggars could ride.

If teardrops were crevices, then, I could hide.

If kissed photographs were money,

I'd never be without.

If broken dreams were assurances,

I'd never, ever doubt.

If yearning makes me stronger,

Then I shall never die.

If heartache gives me golden wings,

I'll take my things and fly.

If pain gave me answers,

I'd teach the world to think.

If torn hair was alcohol,

I'd drown myself in drink.

If insomnia was sanctified,

I'd surely be a saint.

If shattered prayers were canvases,

I could forever paint.

If teardrops were closets, inside them I'd hide.

And if you really are my friend, you'd lock me there inside.
