IGive.com - Fundraising Through Online Shopping

Raise Money for Your Cause by Shopping Online!

Valerie Hansen
Many people now do at least some of their shopping online. Chances are, some volunteers in your organization shop online. Even if your volunteers don't shop online, it's easy to find people who do. With every purchase, a percentage goes towards your organization. People shopping online don't pay any extra fee while shopping. It's also free to sign up for iGive. This is a very easy way to earn money for your cause.

iGive's mission is "[t]o enable the economic power of individuals to benefit their chosen communities." You can find a cause to support, and all of your online shopping will support that cause. The cause can advertise at events, in their newsletters, on their website, or anywhere else they choose. Unlike some links you may have to give people to help earn money with fundraising, the iGive cause links are not hard for people to remember. For example, I volunteer for a guinea pig rescue, Orange County Cavy Haven. The link is just www.iGive.com/OCCH, how easy is that?

So now that you know there is potential here and that this is easy, you might be thinking that iGive doesn't offer many online shopping options for your members. Wrong! There are many stores that will give a percentage donation to your cause. Donating merchants include Barnes & Noble, Priceline.com, Ritz Camera, Shutterfly, Zales.com, and many others. Many popular online stores donate so that your volunteers and others do not need to change their shopping habits to benefit the organization.

After you sign your cause up on iGive, you will receive monthly donation checks based on how much shopping your members do online. The more people you sign up, the more earning potential you have. So don't miss out on all the extra money your cause could be getting. iGive is easy to sign up for and let's face it, you could always use more donations.
