I-Inc IF171ABB 17" Widescreen LCD Monitor Review

We purchased the I-Inc IF171ABB 17" Widescreen LCD monitor for my wife's computer, and despite it's low price, ($89.99 at Tier Direct on sale), we got more than we paid for. The monitor came packaged well, and was an absolutely beautiful monitor, of course I tend to say that about all my new computer parts, LOL. We removed the stand, and the only problem we had with the entire monitor purchase and set-up is that there is a piece of tape over one of the screw holes that holds the base stand on, and the piece of tape says, "Warranty Void if removed". We called the company and expressed that this tape had to be removed or damaged in order to remove the stand so we could mount it to an Ergotron desk mount swing arm. They understood fully, and made note on our ownership file that the tape was removed only for the purpose of mounting to a mount. The reason for the tape over this particular screw is because this screw has to be removed in order to access the insides of the monitor itself, therefore someone could open the case and damage the monitor, but they were understanding of our plight.

Once we hooked up the I-Inc IF171ABB monitor, it worked beautifully. The computer automatically recognized it's native resolution and adjusting the settings accordingly. Something most people do not understand about monitors is, a 17 inch LCD monitor is larger than a 17 inch CRT monitor. The reason being when they measure a tube for a CRT monitor, they measure the diagonal of the entire tube which extends beyond the viewable area. On an LCD monitor, they measure the actual viewable LCD panel. Therefore a 17 inch LCD monitor is equivalent to most 19 inch CRT monitors, and did I mention the price? $89.99!!

The refresh rate on the I-Inc IF171ABB 17" Widescreen LCD Monitor is fast and watching movies and TV on it is quite enjoyable. Working on it is equally pleasurable. My wife is a photographer and she does digital graphics as well, and to say she loves doing her work on this new monitor would be a serious understatement.

The specs for the I-Inc IF171ABB are:

Monitor type: LCD
Screen size: 17 inch diagonal

VESA Mounting Compliant
Dimensions w/stand: 16" X 7.8" X 14.6"

We can attest to the viewing angles of the I-Inc IF171ABB monitor, since we lay in bed to watch movies in the evenings, the monitor does not loose brightness as our angle decreases, and often the kids come in and join us, and no one has problems seeing the image. The monitor is beautiful, and I thoroughly love it more than the more expensive HP LCD we replaced. Well worth the money, and I am looking for another monitor, perhaps a larger one, and we will probably purchase another I-Inc monitor soon, maybe even another I-Inc IF171ABB.
