I'll Be Seeing You

Robin Jessie-Green
I could never bring myself to speak words that would deny my love for you

Couldn't downplay my feelings

even when you were no where around

no where to be found

and had no clue

I was still loving you.

See, I was loving you when you weren't even looking

Correcting every doubter whoever mistook it

for something else

Defending what we had when there was no one else to

Not even you.

I love you in a way that shouldn't even exist.

My love has no conditions and is limitless.

And it is not predicated on your loving me too

But I know you do

I started believing this was more of a curse than a blessing

Began loving you so hard I swear I was making God jealous and

I began letting outsiders in

who

started to convincingly undo

the thought processes that led me to believe the words you spoke were true.

I began to second and third guess your actions too

Cloak and dagger operations I did ensue

Finding absolutely nothing new

Ultimately causing a rift between us

Damaging what we both once thought was so rare

Simply because I began to compare

Our love to something others never knew.

So if it's in fact true,

you are to me and I am to you

the exception to every rule...

When it's the right time

I'll be seeing you.
