Illegal Aliens, Come and Get It

It never ceases to amaze me that liberals, in our nation, the land of laws - yes that is what our nation was founded on, could seek and overturn certain laws just because they want to. Why is it that all of sudden - well actually it has been going on for years come election time - value the illegal's in this country - breaking the law mind you, to have access to healthcare?

Well you may have guessed it - votes. By turning the illegal's into the wards of the state, it makes the liberals look like Mother Theresa in disguise - only in disguise of course because the liberals could never pull off a coup d'état on their own without giving away the farm. But to be fair, some Republicans have tried this act only to be slam-dunked before it began. At least we learn our lessons - can't say that much for the left.

As there shouldn't be a surprise, Rep. Michael M. Honda, California Democrat and chairman of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus states, "Legal permanent residents should be able to purchase their plans, and they should also be eligible for subsidies if they need it. Undocumented, if they can afford it, should be able to buy their own private plans. It keeps them out of the emergency room."

Okay, it keeps the un-documented out of the ER, so why not just send them back to whatever nation they came from - so they cannot enter an American ER or is that too Un-American to do? Don't get me wrong, the sanctity of life is important and I'd help anyone, no matter who they are to receive life saving medical actions to save their life but that isn't the point.

Rep. Steve Kind of Iowa (R) probably said it better than anyone could; "If anybody can, with a straight face, advocate that we should provide health insurance for people who broke into our country, broke our law and for the most part are criminals, I don't know where they ever would draw the line."

There's an interesting twist to all of this healthcare fiasco. In 1996, Congress overhauled the welfare law that restricted most federal benefits to green card holders - illegal aliens if you needed to ask - for those that have been here at least five years. Congress did the right thing but along comes a bunch of spiders, democrats , that crawled all over that bill and chipped away enough of it when they reauthorized the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to allow states to cover all immigrant children, no matter how long they have been here illegally.

Democrats - who just became experts on health - claim that health care costs are much lower for legal immigrants than for your average American. That's a surprise as it appears to me most legal immigrants already have health insurance - at least the ones I know - and somehow now legal immigrants are now the issue and not illegal immigrants? Or do the democrats now claim that an illegal alien that becomes a "legal immigrant" somehow become healthier than if they remained illegal? Does the term, "cunning" come to mind?

To make matters worse, President Obama who says insurance coverage for illegal immigrants is not a part of the bill, gets caught because of the "You Lie" statement from Rep. Joe Wilson - cementing Obama's deception - Obama now has a solution. Obama now says, "Let's make all 12 million illegal's "legal" and problem solved.

Isn't it bad enough that illegal aliens came into this country through a backdoor and now President Obama and the liberal democrats are opening that backdoor again?

When does the law of the land matter? Why do we even have laws when government that actually makes law and then decides to break those laws?
