Illegal Immigrants: Are You Part of the Problem?

Russ Keith
I'm sure you've heard the saying "if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem". Ask yourself what have you done to help solve the problem? Did you vote in the last election? What was your candidate's view of the problem? Was it even something you considered when you cast your vote? Are you planning to vote in the upcoming elections? Have you researched the candidates and their views?

If you answered no or I don't know to any of these questions consider yourself part of the problem! We need to be putting people into office that are going to take an aggressive approach to solving this situation.

President Ronald Reagan once said "We have problems in our country, and many people are praying and waiting for God to do something. I just wonder if maybe God isn't waiting for us to do something. And while no one is capable of doing everything, everyone is capable of doing something".

So what can you do to be part of the solution?
Write "Letters to the Editor" about illegal immigration and how it affects you the taxpayer.
Verify that the people that do work for you such as landscapers, housekeepers, painters, etc. are here legally.
Participate in talk radio programs on the subject illegal immigration.
Do not patronize businesses that hire illegal immigrants.
Support the government in passing tougher laws against illegal immigration.

So how bad is the illegal immigration problem? A good answer to that would be, how bad is the economy? With over 15 billion dollars being sent back to Mexico every year, what kind of an impact would it make on the economy if that money were spent here? Not to mention the jobs those workers are filling would then need to be filled by illegal workers lowering the unemployment rate.

Can America get the situation under control? The answer is a resounding, YES! But, only with the backing of the people! If after the bombing of Pearl Harbor all the Japanese could be rounded up, their property and businesses seized and the people thrown into dentition camps, the illegal immigrants can be deported!

Think this is extreme? Lets take a look back at the Roman Empire. Once the most powerful empire in the world, but with the influx of immigrants unwilling to assimilate they were unable to put up a unified front and the empire ultimately fall. Lets learn from history and do something before it's to late!

In the words of President John F. Kennedy "My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country".
