Illegal Immigration from Mexico

Corey Leavitt
Our country, the United States, has had a problem with illegal immigration for awhile now. The question is, is it really a problem? Could our country run anywhere near as well without these immigrants sneaking into our workforce? How much do these immigrants, that most of us believe are scum, really affect our lives? I believe the answer is we could not live without them!

Illegal immigrants are a great bargain for their employers, because they are usually hard-working people who accept low pay and don't cause any trouble on the job. They are usually much harder working then most people hired from our country. People from our country don't appreciate working hard anymore like they used to. Business owners usually say that illegal immigrants are some of their best employees. There is proof that business has begun to suffer in some places due to stricter laws on immigration. Our country may fail if this is not changed.

You may say that illegal immigrants are taking the jobs that American citizens could be doing. Most of our citizens don't even want these jobs though and even if they do they are too lazy to try to apply for these jobs. You may also say that these 'illegals' bring much crime with them when they come into the United States. This may be true of a select few, but for the most part these illegal immigrants are just hard-working people that want a better life for themselves and their families. These people are not here to damage our country they are here to make it better along with their own lives.

If you were to look at the economy of states near the boarder into Mexico you would notice that it is beginning to drop. In states like Arizona and New Mexico, where hiring illegal immigrants is very popular due to their benefits, they are having trouble finding good hard-working employees that don't want extremely high wages and impossible benefits for their work. This is due to new laws making it almost impossible for companies to employ illegal immigrants. Is this really a good thing? Do we really want the economy in our country getting even worse? I don't think so, and you shouldn't either.

We need these Mexican immigrants! It is foolish for us to continue denying them from our country. They will hold our workforce together. Illegal immigrants are extremely important to our country.
