Illinois Governor Election 2010: What If Bill Brady Wins?
A Contributor Perspective: How Will This Affect Me?
Upon doing some research on the two main candidates for election, I became increasingly aware of the fact that I will be impacted more directly if Bill Brady wins. I am a single white female, unemployed, and a mother of two. Those statistics don't get you very far in the world today. My children are both covered under the state insurance called "All Kids". (This is a program that Blagojevich put into effect, which was probably the only sensible thing that man did for Illinois.) I am also covered under the insurance being as I am the children's mother. This has helped out tremendously, but once I go back to work my coverage will end. This is where my fear of Bill Brady being elected comes into play.
Bill Brady has voted against a bill that would make insurance companies have to cover contraceptives. This would include drug form or device form. This bill would be an amazing thing for women all over Illinois, because let's be real, birth control is expensive without insurance. This would allow more women to be protected against unwanted pregnancies. It would be most beneficial to me for this bill to pass. After all, I already have two children and am not planning on having anymore. While my current insurance does cover the birth control, when I get married in the fall, my husband's insurance will not. This leaves me stuck. On one hand, I need the birth control but on the other hand, can we afford it? I am to young to have my tubes tied. This is just a lose/lose situation for me.
Another thing that Brady keeps stressing is tax cuts. I can't believe this is even a possibility with the $13 billion deficit we have here in Illinois (again in part due to Blagojevich). The logical reasons behind Brady's beliefs just aren't there. While Pat Quinn is advertising tax increases, it may not be popular but it surely is a step in the right direction.
In recent polls taken, Brady is ahead of Quinn in the race for Governor 2010. Hopefully something changes from now until November. If not, somethings will be changing here in Illinois and it may not be for the best interest of the people. It seems that sometimes these candidates both get lost in the race and forget that they are elected by the people for the people.

I fail to understand why the voters of Illinois favor Chicago political cesspool politics to govern Illinois. When are the voting puplic going to wake up and stop Chicago politicans from controlling the entire state ? Haven't they had enough of the dirty politics and politicans out the Chicago/Cook County area.
How about not having kids and control yourself in the bed. LOL L
Great article =0)
She just sold me on Brady.
I have decided to back Whitney for governor! You can find the reasons why here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5742048/illinois_governor_race_2010_what_if.html?cat=9
Rich Whitney is hands down the best candidate.
According to the recent Polls. Quinn does not have a shot too. There are 3 choices and the third choice(Whitney does not suck) Go to his Website he has a budget proposal(Only one so far) and look at his issues.
Either choice at this point sucks. If Whitney wins, there may be some changes. I just can't see that being a reality at this point
And what made you believe that Whitney will not have a shot? Whitney is polling at 11% right now. Jesse Ventura was polling at 9%, but went on to win in Minnesota. I think you fell for the wasted vote lie. Sometimes people have take a stand or else they are going to get more of the same another Blag...
