I'm an AC Millionaire: You Can Be One Too!

Reaching Over One Million Page Views at Associated Content

Lyn Lomasi
When I first logged onto AC over two and a half years ago, I wasn't thinking about how long it would take me to get to one million page views. In fact, I probably wasn't thinking about page views at all. I was just testing another work at home opportunity I'd found, hoping it wasn't a scam.

Writing has always been a part of my life from the time I learned how at age three. Before joining Associated Content, I had been managing blogs and websites (some of my own and some for others), writing most or all of the content myself. However, I never really considered the money I could make from my advice or writing - much less getting one million page views on it.

The idea of a website that would actually pay Contributors (called Content Producers at the time) money for content they'd produce on their own topics intrigued me. But, would people actually want to pay for my writing? Would other people actually read something written by me or take any advice I offered? I'm nobody famous, just your average mom who was looking for a way to make money and stay at home with the kids at the same time.

Over one million views of my content later, I'm both proud and humbled to say that it went just like that. Not only has AC paid me for writing a large number of articles featuring a wide range of topics, but people actually have read them and left some great feedback, both constructive and uplifting. Much of that feedback came from fellow AC Contributors. The community aspect of AC really sets it apart from many other venues. Writers have several ways to network with each other and share advice and so much more.

Since joining AC, I have become a full time freelance writer and I have AC to thank for that. Not only have I earned a good amount from AC, but my work here directly led to outside gigs and even to me starting my own writing business, due to the volume of offers I was (and still am) receiving. In addition to publicity, AC has the best publishing platform among writing sites I've tried and is an amazing resource for both novice and experienced writers. There are many ways to learn while producing content on AC and I truly believe that anyone willing to put in the time and effort can see great results.

How will I get to my next million page views? My guess is by using the following strategies, mixed with whatever new things I learn along the way.

Tips on Achieving More Page Views

Publish often - Publishing content frequently shows the search engines that a page is actively refreshing content for its visitors. This is helpful in terms of ranking the importance of content that is linked to an AC Contributor Page.

Use SEO - If the search engines cannot find your content, who else will? I learned this early on. Just as I was thinking I'd never get enough views to earn any real cash with AC, fellow Contributors helped me out with this advice. I highly recommend learning about SEO and implementing it into content as you learn. Click Here for some starter tips on SEO that are easy to implement right away. Network - Network with fellow writers here on AC and on social networking sites. Share ideas and advice and apply them to your writing. I know that some of you reading this will not be into the whole social networking thing, but trust me, it works. Whenever I combine well-written SEO content with advice and promotion from social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook, there is a noticeable rise in my page views.

Write What You Know - Going outside of your usual topics is good for showing flexibility in writing, but also be sure to write what you know. The topics I know the most about or am most passionate about seem to get a great deal of views. I figure this is because readers want to hear a personal perspective and understand how the information or project actually worked on a real person, rather than just read a plain instructional piece they could find anywhere.
