I'm an Anomaly, Phenomenally!

Shirlene Alusa-Brown
I'm an anomaly, phenomenally!
I don't care to have myself caged
My spirit is free
So just let me be
I plan to improve as I age.

I'm an anomaly, phenomenally!
I love to go spreading my wings
So just let me soar,
Or walk out the door
I want to dance, frolic and sing

I'm an anomaly, phenomenally!
Don't touch this unless you can hang
My passion's unbridled
And cannot be stifled
Be sure you can help sooth the pang

I'm an anomaly, phenomenally!
Don't try to fit me in a box
I can gut a fish
Hang with the Commish
And weather the storms of hard knocks

I'm an anomaly, phenomenally!
I don't try to make an excuse
I just live my life
Through joy and through strife
Don't hate me because I bemuse

Yes, I'm an anomaly, phenomenally!
I love the dichotomy that is me
In sneakers or heels
I exude sex appeal
Don't touch if you can't take the heat!

Loved reading this poem. You have become a phenomenon alright. Keep up the good work.
