I'm a Big Brother Reality TV Junkie

I admit it! I am a voyeur. An obsessed freak. But I know I am not alone in this. Maybe my friends are not like me but I know there are people out there that understand because I run into them all the time on the internet, on message boards and forums and those obsessed-fan sites.

Right now my summer obsession is CBS' Big Brother 8. I watch the 3-times-a-week shows and I also watch the nightly Big Brother After Dark 3 hour live shows on Showtime Too. OK, so I added Showtime to my cable line-up specifically to watch this show. I also read the up to the minute updates on the website Jokers Updates. I have not stooped low enough to actually pay for the 24/7 live online feeds. Yet. But Jokers Updates gives my obsessed mind updates from people who do have the 24/7 feeds and then transcribe them for the website. How nice is that?

I know I am not alone in this obsession. I have not changed my avatar to any of the players' pictures and have not come up with any cutesy online nicknames based on the players but I love surfing the message boards and putting in my 2 cents about the talks, strategies and rivalries in the house. I love hearing strategy too!

I do not have a favorite houseguest yet but I do have to root for the hometown player, Daniele from good old Huntington Beach, California. Just don't do anything skanky Daniele. Please don't let me down. There are definitely a few that I think just absolutely need to go like Jen and Amber.

Dick is probably the biggest, baddest mother trucker Big Brother 8 player of them all. I have never seen someone more paranoid or play the game more psychological than he is playing it. Yeah, Will from previous seasons was a pretty good game player but we will definitely see Dick around a lot after the show is over. You know that CBS will be putting him on a future Big Brother All Stars edition as well.

So am I obsessed? Yup and I am proud of it. My husband is sick to death of it but when something completely outrageous happens, he is right there on the couch with me, glued to the television set. It is a great summer obsession and better than any of the other stuff on TV right now. So come obsess with me and let's have some Big Brother 8 fun together!
