No child should go to bed or go to school hungry. This is the United States, land of the free and home of the brave. Unfortunately, it is also the home of the hungry and land of the under-nourished. Can you look into the sad eyes of a starving child and not help? Can you imagine not having any food for days? Help feed our children. You can, we all can, help Share our Strength's goal of no child going hungry by the year 2015.

While watching one of my favorite channels last night, The Food Network, there was a commercial that I just caught a few seconds of. The commercial had something to do with hungry children and it gave the website www.foodnetwork.com/hungry. I immediately ran to the computer and went to the website. It was late so I bookmarked it for today.

Following the Food Network's site led me to Share our Strength's site. They are the organization that has vowed to end childhood hunger. Share our Strength is a national organization committed to ending childhood hunger by the year 2015.

What better group of folks to be involved in a program to help feed kids, The Food Network Stars! Domino's sugar and Family Circle Magazine are just two of the corporate sponsors. The program is called No Kid Hungry and their goal is to end childhood hunger by the year 2015. This is a program to feed our kids, the kids in the United States of America. People complain that we help others before we help our own. No Kid Hungry is for our kids, so now is the time to help.

What happens to a child that doesn't eat properly? That child is sick more often and won't bounce back as fast as other kids. That child has a good chance of being hospitalized due to the effects of hunger. A hungry child will have a hard time learning. The lack of nutritious food can led to emotional and behavioral problems.

More than 17 million children are hungry and lack nutritious food, many of these kids belong to single moms and they are living below the poverty line. Click here to read all the statistics; they will blow your mind.
