Who Say's HIP-HOP not POETRY,
That it's not RAP,
Well that's a bunch of crap,
Some might not be either because its fake artist,
But you have to see the rest,
You have to see the best,
Me I wanted to do it,
But God said "Maybe your just a poet",
Wouldn't you know it,
These silly kids talking about guns, sex and prison bids,
Getting paid,
While real artist are the slaves,
Cause they put in real work with real heart,
Not to just be apart of the "in" crowd,
They do it to express themselves,
They also do it to share their joy and pain,
They do it for the people to let them know that they understand the rain that doesn't seem to stop falling at times,
It's more then just rhymes,
and at times my stuff, its not ever put in the category as best,
but forget you! and you! cause I got it off my chest,
Now I can rest more easy,
Cause I let someone else rest more easy,
Some HIP-HOP just tease me,
Talking about Money and violence and selling lots of drugs,
The street thugs and all of that,
But what about the man that's on a different attack,
Just as hood as you and nothings good,
I work,
I choose to,
I pay for my family's needs,
I choose to,
I do not break most laws,
(Pause and think about that,)
But I choose to do that too,
So look here,
I went in and drew you a picture of my world,
Not the entire thing,
That would bring me pain,
But I can share real thoughts in my own way,
This is how I get it out,
This is how I pray,
Realer then most because I'm broke and if I were rich I still wouldn't boast,
So tell me why POETRY is not HIP-HOP,
and HIP-HOP is not POETRY again?
Sighing off yours TRULY,
Your man "SIN"!!
