I'm Not Ready to Conform to an I ROBOT World

What Ever Happened to Fred Flinstone?

Technology is a beautiful creation that has enabled us to be less manual and more automatic. We went from cooking meals to freezers full of microwavable products and wonder why we're so obese. I've found it hard at times to find a pen because I'm so use to typing my handwriting has become chicken scratch. We'd rather look all around the room and in creases of the couch for the remote versus controlling the channels from the television. I rarely run out of dish detergent because the dishwasher washes the dishes for me. It's an ongoing saga of patience deteriorating. We want it and we want it now. Fast-food isn't fast enough. I'd rather TiVo the movie than rent it. What's the since in wasting gas when I can shop online?

There's been an increase in carpal tunnel syndrome gallstones, and vision problems because of the amount of time spent in front of a computer. Technology hasn't completely crippled us, amazing discoveries in the medical world has serviced so many people around the country. I think it's wonderful how we can see the features of a baby before the birth. I'm not a fan of chips being placed in our arms to identify who we are or to improve our memory. I think a person who gets a chip to advance their skills in sports is no different from a person who uses enhancement drugs. It's Cheating!!

My prediction is that CD's and DVD's are going to be a thing of the past we're basically experiencing it now. We download movies and songs to our computers and IPod's . Less than a decade ago, cars came with cassette players and they now have setups for MP3's and IPods. I'm terrified of an IRobot world I'm not ready for everything to function with the help of a computer. Cashiers have already been replaced by the self-help stations at stores and all you have to do is wave your card and the transaction is made. I feel sorry for people who love writing checks because no one has the patience to wait for the process. I love technology and I also love being me and I fear we're going to live as robots on one accord and no one will possess individual characteristics.
